Media Release: Key Strategic Acquisition

Intuit Technologies has today cemented its next stage of growth across the east coast of Australia by completing the full acquisition of leading Queensland ICT solutions provider SureBridge. This strategic acquisition will combine the brand strength and customer focused capabilities of both organisations, allowing the unified group to deploy value creating resources and ICT solutions at scale across a broader geographic spread than was previously possible.

“In completing this acquisition, Intuit Technologies has recognised the long-standing and trusted partnerships built by SureBridge in the Queensland and northern New South Wales market and the importance of providing a local and highly capable service to key customers,” said Dane Bignell, Managing Director and Founder of Intuit Technologies.

“Our plan is to retain and invest in the SureBridge brand and business and focus on providing reliable and innovative solutions to customers while we continue to grow and move forward in Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania. We see real opportunity to establish the Intuit Technologies group as a major alternative ICT solutions provider across the east coast, while not losing our unique Tasmanian heritage.”

With SureBridge now established as its northern business unit, the Intuit Technologies group will have a combined workforce of around 150 staff, spread across 5 major office locations in Hobart, Launceston, Burnie, Melbourne and Brisbane. The capabilities of the group extend across its Tier 1 vendor partners such as:

  • Dell Technologies
  • Microsoft
  • Hitachi Vantara
  • Fortinet
  • Extreme Networks
  • VMware
  • Telstra
  • Nutanix

“Dell Technologies have been working closely with Intuit Technologies for over 10 years, helping customers in Tasmania and Victoria on their digital transformation journeys,” said Shant Soghomonian, General Manager, Channel, Dell Technologies Australia and New Zealand. “We have also built a solid relationship with SureBridge by providing Queensland businesses simple, robust and innovative solutions spanning across the full Dell Technologies portfolio. We are excited for what the future brings with today’s announcement and look forward to the next chapter for both Intuit Technologies and SureBridge.”

The current owners of SureBridge, Rick Brown and Glenda Solomon, have driven its success for many years as Executive Directors and will step down immediately from any operational capacity. They will remain trusted advisers and available for input as required. This transition will ensure continuity and a seamless handover to the new management team headed by Intuit Technologies Chief Revenue Officer and now General Manager of Queensland – Phil Dickman.

“Both Glenda and I are excited about this new phase for the business I founded 28 years ago. It has been an amazing journey and we want to extend our sincerest thanks to the valued customers and staff of SureBridge who have come with us on that journey over the years,” said Rick Brown, former Managing Director and Founder. “As part of the Intuit Technologies group, those customers and staff will be able to access more opportunity and capability and that can only be a good thing for all involved. We have every confidence in the ability of the local team to continue to provide the renowned customer experience and service that has always been at the core of SureBridge and as we have seen in our discussions – at the core of Intuit Technologies as well.”

The combined entity will have operations and capabilities across the east coast of Australia, 150 staff and allow support for customers in every state and territory. Intuit Technologies expects to continue to drive growth and expansion in Queensland over the next 12 months as it beds down the operational and back office integrations.
