Something Digital 2026
Human Intelligence. Enabled.
Where technology amplifies human potential
Still Human.
Something Digital brings together more than 700 leaders, founders and specialists from business, government, education and technology.
Across two days in Brisbane, the program examines the technology, leadership and organisational challenges shaping how organisations work and grow. Sessions cover AI, digital governance, security, organisational capability and transformation – with a focus on practical insight from leaders working through these issues now.
But here's the thing: technology isn't the outcome. Human judgement, capability and decision-making are. The best technology amplifies those things.
That's what Something Digital is about. Not AI hype. Not transformation theatre. Real conversations about how organisations can embrace innovation while staying grounded in what actually matters.
What You'll Gain
- Practical perspectives on AI adoption without the hype
- Insight from leaders wrestling with governance, security and real execution
- Ideas and frameworks you can apply immediately in your organisation
- Opportunities to meet peers and specialists working through similar challenges
- Time to consider what matters to your organisation and what a practical next step could look like
- Real conversations with people who understand that technology enables human potential, not replaces it
What to Expect
Across two days, our team will be in the room meeting customers, partners and leaders from Queensland's digital community. We'll be asking questions, listening for the challenges that matter to your organisation, and exploring what practical next steps could look like.
You'll also see us contributing to the main program. Heath Roberts, Senior Executive – Advisory & Project Services, is exploring what it means to verify and build confidence in AI-assisted work – the real skill shift that's happening now. Bree Postma is on a panel discussing the security risks organisations are accidentally creating with AI. And Brendon Jessup and Tom Field are running a masterclass on practical AI adoption frameworks.
Come prepared to think, listen and leave with a clearer view of what applies to your organisation.
Our Contribution
Verifying What We Can't See: Building Confidence in AI-Assisted Work
As AI takes on more of the execution, the real shift isn't just in tools, it's in skills. We once produced work – now we need to review it. We're now expected to sense-check, verify and sign off on work we can't fully see into. What does that actually look like in practice? Where do we trust, where do we challenge, and how do we build enough confidence to put our name to it? Speaker: Heath Roberts, Senior Executive – Advisory & Project Services, Intuit Technologies.

As AI slips into everyday workflows, we're introducing new vulnerabilities, often without realising it (or at least not asking too many questions). In the rush to automate and optimise, sensitive data gets shared, systems become harder to see, and control starts to drift. So the question isn't whether the risk is there – because it is – but how long can we keep operating like this before something breaks? Panellists: Bree Postma, Lead Consultant – Technology, Intuit Technologies; Christie Wilson, Manager Cyber Resilience, UniSuper; David Lacey, Chief Scams Officer, Australian Financial Complaints Authority.

A practical masterclass on AI-enabled transformation using tools such as Microsoft Copilot that actually works. Small groups, real examples, and frameworks you can take back to your organisation. The focus is on what to consider before you start, how to govern AI safely, and what readiness actually looks like. Because the best AI adoption is the kind that amplifies what your people can do, not replaces their judgement. Facilitated by Brendon Jessup, Senior Executive – Microsoft Cloud & Business Solutions, and Tom Field, Enterprise Solutions Executive, Intuit Technologies. Interactive format with real-world demonstrations using Microsoft Copilot. Attendance capped at 25 people.
